My Connection: Unlisted
I am a proud 2nd Generation Panamanian. My mother and grandparents immigrated to the U.S. in the 1980's. Me and my brothers were primarily raised by my mom, and lived with the knowledge that we were going to have to work hard as students of color to take the financial pain off of our parents. Being a student of color, descended from immigrants showed me how hard it is to be a student from multiple backgrounds and just how unique everyone's situation is on their path to education. I hope that Unlisted teaches others about those paths too, and the struggles and triumphs all of us face on the way to our degrees.
